What To Expect
Join this 2.5 hour class to learn everything you need to bring baby home with confidence! Led by Yaffa Tilles (LICSW, birth doula and mom of 3) and Sarah Joy Hollingsworth (RN, CLC, and mom of 6) to learn what CDC recommends for each topic plus some alternatives. Meet other expecting couples and find your village! Topics include (in alphabetical order - all are so important!) Attachment Bathing Breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, milk storage Car seat safety Circumcision and umbilical cord care Choosing a pediatrician Diapering Pacifiers Safe sleep Swaddling Vaccinations FYI: one ticket needed per family Learn more about Sarah! Sarah Joy is a biological, foster, and adoptive mom to six creative, courageous and kind kids and the wife of 14 years to a caring and compassionate husband. Using a holistic approach that embraces the integration of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual pieces that make us human, she is passionate about seeing family relationships grow and thrive in the post-postpartum phase of life. Sarah Joy sees motherhood through the lens of attachment and connection, and values the hard work it takes to press into the joy In the journey of motherhood. Knowing the need of support herself, she is zealous for building individual and family support in and outside the home so no one walks motherhood alone. She carries a sense of peace and joy as she loves attuning to the nuances the journey of motherhood brings. Professionally, Sarah Joy is a Registered Nurse specializing in emergency medicine, holds a Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins, and is a Certified Lactation Consultant. She has also spent a decade leading mom’s groups through her local church. As the founder of Joy in the Journey Care, she provides personalized support to mothers and families.
